I had/have few dreams, and Allah SWT completed 2 of the difficult one for me.
1) Exploring Europe which was impossible with a tourist visa, that's why I wanted to study there, and it is completed when I got acceptance from Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary for MS program in EE and explored more than 20 EU Countries or 45 Cities during my stay in Hungary.
2) Studying one of the degree programs at US University and it will be completed now InshaAllah after getting admitted to TAMU Kingsville, Texas.
What things led me to decide on higher studies in Foreign University?
The only reason is exploring the world while studying as it is tough to save time later and explore the world by spending lots of money (I say this as Fazul Kharchi). I always used to go in the path of Allah (Dawat-o-Tableegh) and listen to our Akabir's bayan that they work in England, America, Europe, etc., and junoon in teenagers that was two reason that motivates me very high and shapes my dream to come true.
I didn't know anything about Abroad Study. I started it from scratch.
I spent 1 full year understanding the procedures across the globe, how they select, what about scholarships, kitne paise lagenge, etc. I asked lots of people at that time, joined many lectures organized at AMU, and helped me as much as possible, but still, I could not understand some critical things, not satisfied. I was anxious will I get full scholarships or not like you people as my family can't bear lakhs of INR.
Benefits of starting from Scratch: Today, I am familiar with every countries scholarship and their procedures in detail for every level. Then, ignoring everything and everyone, I started searching on the internet and explored every country's university websites as much as I can. After spending lots of time searching, it becomes a hobby. Once you have a hobby, you spend lots of time on those things.
GRE & TOEFL Preparation and my worst Score in English Part.
I make a major mistake in selecting resources. I chose wrong. I tried to prepare GRE Verbal Section, and every time, I open it, and in less than hours, I close it. It was extremely tough for me. I didn't do a single question of Verbal with understanding in a real GRE test. I guessed all of them, 40 questions, and scored 141 in Verbal. It was my fortune.
SOP, LOR, Other Application Question Writing
Believe me, this was the worst thing I have ever faced at that time. I read some guidelines, took a pen and paper to the library and spent 2-3 hours and didn't write a single sentence. At Instant, I started youtube, wasted my time How to write the SOP, LOR, etc., and came back with Pen and Paper, and this time also nothing. I did it many times, but nothing due to my worst English Skills or Analytical Ability. Then I download lots of samples, did a high level of copy-paste and changed words, etc. and organized them effectively, and used that. Same with LOR. But, now I can write on anything as my writing part is always good. I scored 23/24 in writing.
Finally, I prepared all the required documents (Jaise Taise Krke) and applied to 8-10 Universities across the globe and got selected in TUM Germany, 2 More University in Germany, NSYSU Taiwan, Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship and, finally, I decided to go to Hungary, thinking that I will explore Europe.
Started my Studies in Hungary and Formation of the Facebook Group AMUSO
Once I got admit and went to Hungary, Juniors, colleagues started to ask what the procedures are, whether I will get full scholarships, how to apply, the same types of basic questions, etc. And it was obvious that I can't answer all of them individually. I feel that AMU people are not so exposed to abroad study, they don't have the right direction or knowledge like me. Everyone just thinks that they have to take a very tough test GRE/TOEFL, How to bear scholarships, etc. I don't know the number but everyone asks that Bahar pdhne me kitne paisa lageag, phle wo btayein, and I say k ZERO. They were surprised, excited and highly motivated. Once they understand the whole procedures and see their result, they were surprised it was not so hard, it was easy. And that boosted me to investigate everything in details and present every detail in a very simpler manner to all the AMU people and that works. Till then, I have much experience in abroad study. then, I plan to make a Whatsapp group but it was disturbing that every time I receive lots of messages, so I shifted that group to a Facebook group and initially I kept it only for BE Students or RM Hall people because I was BE Student and was living in RM Hall. ()Then, people from other department or faculties also tries to contact me, then I analyzed why I do not make a group for the AMU. But, I was scared that I am just BE pass out and 1st year Master Student. How will I do that? But, ignoring everything and everyone, I finally make a group for AMU students of any faculties. I just started with no confidence but due to excellent response and lots of appreciation, my confidence boosted and in just 3 years, the result is in front of you all people. During this journey, lots of my friends or colleagues helped me but they were not so dedicated or they don't have enough content. However, they tried their best to help me. And finally, you can say there are 6000+ members in the group and 200+ selection in these 3 years of small efforts.
