There are two ways to apply for the MEXT scholarship. Via Japanese Embassy in India (also called Embassy Recommendation) Via Japanese Universities Channel (also called University Recommendation) You can choose any of the above options.  More chances of selection via University Recommendation. Deadline varies for both channels.  Embassy Recommendation application announced around April/May of the previous year.
